Three New Contracts Awarded For School Rehabilitation & Expansion
Wednesday 14th November, 2006- St. George’s: The Government of Grenada has awarded contracts to Collaborative Designs for the rehabilitation of the St. John’s Christian Secondary School, Hermitage Government School, and the construction of a Science Block at the T.A. Marryshow Community College.
The proposed works on the Hermitage Government School include repairs, renovations and re-decoration of all the existing buildings and includes, replacing roof, doors, windows, walls, floors, ceilings, painting, fittings, services, external works, etc. Total contract amount for Hermitage Government School EC$ 1,059,322.84.
The scope of works on the St. John’s Christian Secondary School includes the following:
• The demolition of three existing buildings, two single-storey and one two-storey.
• Block A- the construction of two storey classroom block.
• Block B- the rehabilitation of existing Block B
• Block C- the construction of a single storey toilet block
• Block D- the construction of a three-storey class room/laboratory building
• External Works- include surface water drains, concrete paths and paving and covered walkway.
Total contract amount for the St. John’s Christian Secondary School is EC$ 5,224,368.80.
With regards to the T.A. Marryshow Community College, the scope of works consists of construction in all trades of a new three storey classroom teaching block. The contract amount for this new block is EC$ 3,189,872.48.
