CHANGE IN DATE FOR FINAL DISTRIBUTION OF TEXT BOOKS
Wednesday 17th September,2008: St.George’s_ The Ministry of Education wishes to advise prospective beneficiaries of the Government of Grenada’s Book Distribution Programme that the previously mentioned date for the final distribution of books has been changed.
This change in date has become necessary due to a shortage in the availability of printed books. The suppliers have now indicated to the Ministry that the outstanding book will be made available by October 31st, 2008.
The October 31st shipment of books will cater for students who have not received their entire stock of text books. A total of 113,110 books which represents approximately 90% have already been distributed under the National Textbook Distribution Programme.
Thus far the Government of Grenada has earmarked approximately five million dollars (5,000,000.00) to be spent on the Book Distribution Programme this year with a total of 24,500 students projected to benefit.
The Ministry of Education wishes to express its appreciation for the cooperation and understanding given throughout the execution of the programme.
