Ministry to hold Public Forums on Education

The public is being given an opportunity to help shape the school curriculum. 
The Ministry of Education is holding two forums on education the first of which will be held on Wednesday at the GBSS auditorium.

Permanent Secretary Michael Pierre says education is a dynamic process and therefore needs constant revision.

He says the ministry wants to look at the education system as see through the eyes of the public.Wednesday’s forum will look at the curriculum, Violence in schools, training and scholarships.Members of the public can make presentations at the forum or call or write in to the Public Relations Unit, Ministry of Education, Botanical Gardens, Tanteen, and St. George’s.

According to Mr. Pierre it is the ministry’s responsibility to ensure that students are prepared for the job market.

The second of the forum will be held at the St. Andrew’s Anglican Secondary School (SAASS) next Wednesday. Both forums will be held from 5 to 8 p.m.
