INVESTIGATIVE TECHNIQUES SEMINAR

ST. GEORGE’S GRENADA, Monday September 14th 2009 – MOEPRU – Five persons will represent Grenada at a seminar on investigative techniques for sale of illicit drugs via the internet.

Information from the Drug Control Secretariat within the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development reveal that the seminar, which will run from 21-25 September 2009 in the Bahamas, will address issues such as basic internet principles, investigation of electronic mail and other investigative methods.

The seminar is in response to a recommendation made by the Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission (CICAD) during the Fourth Round of the Multilateral Evaluation Mechanism (MEM), 2005 to 2006.

The recommendation was to carry out research and training activities related to the prevention and control of illicit traffic of pharmaceutical products and other drugs via the internet, which will enable the country to identify its regulatory and operative needs.

The seminar will be conducted by CICAD in partnership with INTERPOL.
